There exists a variety of different technologies for removing the unwanted layers of the beta glucan molecules. Some technologies are more effective than others. Some manufacturers can obtain 40% purity, and a few can approach 90% purity, but the most common level of purity is in the 60% to 70% range.

The reason is that the 60% that remains attached to the 1,3/1,6 linkages, camouflages or disguises the linkage, and your immune system will, very likely, not recognize or respond to it.
